Barbecue Cookoff

Imagine, searching for a clear cut winner when each dish was tasty and well prepared. Heaven for a foodie.

Then entries:

Truly, we loved every bite. And we haggled back and forth over the merits of each dish. The heat on the flank, the delight of seeing grilled fruit (I can still taste the pineapple), the superior marinade on the swordfish, the perfection of the pulled beef or the combination of perfect crispness with the tangy bbq on the chicken pizza.

But it was all good. But Renee held our feet to the fire and made us pick a winner. And that winner was the grilled barbecued chicken pizza.

It may have been the contrast between the just perfect crispness of the grilled crust. Or maybe the balance of sweet and tangy of the barbecued chicken on the cheese. Or it might have been the surprise of having pizza fresh off the grill.

Whatever it was, we devoured it.

And what a hardship! To have to taste good food prepared by enthusiastic cooks testing their mettle over the flames. What a Forking Delicious day.
